The Event
It’s crazy I know. A half marathon while the turkey’s in the oven? Or you can be less crazy and opt for the 5k or maybe even the 1-mile. Either way, celebrate Thanksgiving Day giving thanks for your health and fitness with friends and fellow runners. Pie? No need to worry…you can have that second piece with a dollop of cool whip! Let’s RUN and have FUN!
Limited to the first 110 participants for the Half Marathon, 150 participants for the 5k, and 50 participants for the 1-mile. This is a chip-timed event.
The Wild Turkey Chase will start and finish in front of the Pickrell Tavern in Pickrell, NE.

The Route
Each event begins in front of the Pickrell Tavern. We will run North on the Homestead Trail to a turnaround point and then back to the Pickrell Tavern. There will be three water stations for the half marathon with a portable at the turnaround point (6.5 miles). Plan accordingly for all your hydration and fueling needs during the run. There will be no water station set up for the 5k or 1 mile.
Age Classes
For both Men & Women: 1-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
Winner Awards
The top 3 OVERALL Men & Women in the 1/2 Gobbler and 5k Waddle will receive a trophy. No awards will be given in the 1 mile Bobble.
Safety Policy
For participant safety, no bicycles or rollarblades are allowed. Participants with baby joggers/strollers or dogs are asked to start in the back of the field out of courtesy to other walkers/runners. All dogs must be on a leash and in your control.
